Latisa Be is Veteran, IT Manager and Entrepreneur. She is co-founder of Your Village, a 501c3 non-profit organization, which focuses on bridging the gap between home and school.
From an underprivileged child in inner city New Orleans to a self-sufficient and phenomenal woman, she has been inspiring and empowering women for over 15+ years to overcome adversity and become the women they want to be. She believes a woman is not defined by her circumstances and can create the life she wants to live.
Latisa was born and raised in New Orleans, La and has lived in Houston, TX since 2000. She has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Information Systems from Southern University at New Orleans and Masters in Information Systems Management from Keller Graduate School of Management. She is an authentic leader and passionate about giving back. She spends her free time volunteering with several non-profits throughout Houston that supports women and youth development.
Latisa shares her story of resilience and heartbreak after her son was murdered in her new book The Resurrection: Life After the Death of Your Child. She says mourning the death of your child is painful but living in a world without them is unimaginable. Her purpose for sharing her story is to give mothers who have to walk this same journey hope that she can genuinely smile again, encouragement that this is not the end, and a starting place for resurrecting her life.
